Astrix™ helps to keep your blood flowing freely and reduces the risk of heart attack and stroke in patients with known cardiovascular or cerebrovascular disease.

Astrix™ capsules contain 100mg of aspirin in the form of enteric coated pellets. The coating on these specifically designed pellets prevents the aspirin from being released in the stomach where it may cause stomach irritation.  Instead, the pellets travel through to the lower intestines where the aspirin is released.

This is considered to be a low-dose of aspirin, and differs from regular or extra strength aspirin formulations which are used for pain and headache relief.

Your doctor will advise you whether using Astrix™ capsules as part of an overall program to manage the risk of heart attack or stroke is suitable for you. Always read the label. Use only as directed. Please visit your doctor on a regular basis to monitor your condition.

Your doctor or pharmacist will tell you how many capsules you will need to take each day. However, the most common dose is one Astrix™ 100 mg capsule once daily with food. Set aside a regular time to take Astrix™ capsules, preferably with a meal so you remember. Each Astrix™ capsule should be swallowed whole with a full glass of water.

Astrix™ capsules are packed in a calendar pack for your convenience. Take one capsule on the corresponding day of the week and follow the arrows around the platform until all capsules are taken. Follow all directions given to you by your doctor or pharmacist carefully.
